Bob Odenkirk worked out his breakdown at the end of July. According to them, he owes his life to the people on the set of “Better Call Saul”.

Bob Odenkirk (59) reports in a new interview about his dramatic collapse in July last year on the set of “Better Call Saul”.

“We shot a scene, we shot the whole day, and fortunately I did not return to my caravan”, he told the “New York Times”. Instead, Odenkirk went to a room next to the set, where he liked to hang out with his co-stars Rhea Seehorn (49) and Patrick Fabian (57).

When he wanted to ride his exercise bike, he went to the ground. “Rhea said, I immediately began to turn bluish-gray.” Seehorn and Fabian called for help, the health consultant of the set and an assistant to the director began to provide first aid, also using a defibrillator. Only the third shock was able to bring Odenkirk back to life.

Odenkirk remembers nothing more

Odenkirk himself no longer remembers anything of all this and knows the episode only from retellings. Seehorn sees this as “the crazy thing”: “You didn’t have a near-death experience – you were told that you had one.” In the hospital, the “Breaking Bad” star was subsequently only a week. And just a few months after his heart attack, he went back to work and went on a hike with the Times reporter.

Odenkirk said he was aware that something was wrong with his heart. He was with two different doctors, who, however, gave him different advice. One said he should start taking the medication, while the other said he could wait – the option Odenkirk chose.
