Bobby was in prison for 27 years. He was released from prison last November. In 1995, he was jailed for 17 consecutive crimes. At the age of sixteen, he went on a robbery spree with a friend in Missouri. The party says that now that he is released after the punishment, it is a big challenge to adapt to the changed world.
Bobby has been released at the age of 44. Bobby says the world has changed a lot. The main change he says is technology. It is a new phenomenon for people to see everyone using cordless phones. Similarly, nothing like Alexa has been able to match Bobby.
It is also said that Bobby was surprised by the way people spoke. For example, when he goes to the grocery store, the employees ask him, ‘Sir, what do you need help with?’ Similarly, he sees it as a new experience when people see each other and wish and ask if they are okay.
After his release from prison, Bobby co-founded Dear Mama, a non-profit organization serving low-income families in St. Louis, Missouri. Bobby started it with his sister. Bobby says that it is still difficult financially. Bobby says that he pays his rent and other things by selling his books.
After spending a good part of his life in prison, Bobby says that life outside is beautiful.
