The Professional Football Medical Department of the Boca Juniors Athletic Club reported that winger Exequiel Zeballos underwent successful surgery for the injury to the anterior cruciate ligament and external meniscus of the right knee.
El Changuito suffered the injury in the match against Belgrano on matchday 8 of the Professional Football League Cup.
The operation was performed by the head doctor of the Boca Department, Jorge Batista, at the La Trinidad Sanatorium, in San Isidro.
The 21-year-old winger will now have between eight and nine months of recovery to return to the fields, that is, approximately in the middle of next year.
