After meeting with the motorcycle associations and reaching a series of agreements with them, the mayor, Claudia López, emphasized one of them; that the identification of the motorcycle plate must be visible somewhere on the clothing; helmet or clothes, since it is an important and useful measure for your identification before the authorities and security cameras of the city.
As established in Decree 119 of April 7, 2022, “Drivers of motorcycle-type motor vehicles and their companions, to facilitate their full identification, must have printed on the back of their safety helmets, on a dark background and white letter and without any element or design that prevents or obstructs its visibility, the number of the plate assigned to the vehicle, in reflective letters and numbers, arial type, whose size will be 3.5 centimeters high and a stroke width of 1 centimeter” .
Regarding this measure, the Mayor said that her objective is to “Protect ourselves, and protect our families and Bogotá from the criminal and terrorist threat that we are facing.”
