Since her birth in 1981, Serbian Bojana Danilovic has seen the world upside down. The top appears to him below, and the bottom above. With this, his right becomes his left, and vice versa. Several winners of the Nobel Prize in Medicine have looked into his case without finding the slightest biological explanation. In one of the many interviews granted to the press, Bojana explains: “I only started walking at the age of three and backwards. I wrote very late, from right to left and from bottom to top. My mother and my teacher failed to correct me. Similarly, I draw upside down. »

At school, her teachers think that Bojana is just trying to draw attention to herself. On their advice, his mother consults several shrinks, who limit themselves to making him swallow drugs with as much effect as a plaster on a wooden leg. Bojana’s case ends up attracting the attention of an American neurologist of Serbian origin, Danica Mijovic. This brought her to Boston twice, in 2003 and 2010. Researchers from Harvard and MIT made her pass a truckload of tests. In vain ! You might as well want to decipher the mystery of the pyramids with a magnifying glass. The researchers limit themselves to concluding that Bojana’s eyes are working correctly, so it is her brain that inverts the image. We are well advanced!

Bojana is not allowed to take her driver’s license because it is feared that she will confuse reverse with forward, and left with right. And yet, despite her disability, she finds a job thanks to the mayor of her hometown of Uzice in western Serbia, who hires her to help the public fill out paperwork. But with his reverse vision, it’s not really the good job. She is then relegated to a task without contact with the public. A colleague tinkers with him a computer with an upside-down screen and an inverted keyboard. Bojana has adapted perfectly to existence in a world where all other humans live with their feet up. She even married a man she sleeps with… head to tail, of course.
