BOLA – Lula da Silva compares Brazilian party to Benfica (Benfica)

President of Brazil between 2002 and 2010, Lula da Silva compared the Workers’ Party (PT), which he founded in 1980, to Benfica, in a conversation this Thursday morning with journalists from the Association of Foreign Correspondents of São Paulo, released by the TSF.

“The PT is not to blame for being big, just like Flamengo is not to be big, like Benfica is not to be big,” he said, referring to the eventual union between the various Brazilian parties against Jair Bolsonaro, current president of that country.

Lula da Silva, remember, visited Lisbon and the Estádio da Luz in September 2011. Later, he was arrested in Brazil for money laundering and corruption, between April 2018 and November 2019.
