Booker T gives his thoughts on Drew McIntyre’s potential departure from WWE.
The former five-time world champion touched on this subject during a recent interview on the podcast Hall of Fame . Booker begins by saying he’s not sure the rumors of McIntyre leaving WWE are true.
I heard Drew McIntyre’s contract is coming up and he might leave to move on. I don’t know. I do not know if that’s true. The fact that he’s not in this tournament says something, doesn’t it? We’ll see how it goes.
A key aspect for Booker is being able to make money. He says if McIntyre wants out of WWE, it’s because he’s been on that trip before.
I say keep it as it is. For me, it’s regarding guys being able to make money. I do not seek the monopoly of the fight. I’m not looking to keep a guy if he doesn’t want to stay. If a guy wants to leave, you let him go. I think it opens up a little bit of everything when it comes to guys going side to side and vice versa. So if a guy wants to leave, let him go. Drew McIntyre, he’s worked in WWE, not just once, but twice. He knows what this system is. One thing regarding being in the system, following being in the system sometimes for so long, you want to get out of it.
When the topic of where McIntyre might end up came up, Booker said anywhere in the world due to the former two-time WWE Champion’s background.
