Borg Høiby’s lawyer asks the media to respect the client’s need for privacy and tranquility

– It is important that the process is allowed to take its course in the right way, and that the media respects my client’s need for privacy and tranquility. It is also important for us to consider the other party as well. The police must be allowed to do their job without the media deciding the facts and culpability. It is possibly the court’s task if the case ends there, writes Marius Borg Høiby’s lawyer Øyvind Bratlien in an SMS to NTB.

– The media’s coverage of the case begins to become unworthy when neither party wants to participate, he writes further.

Høiby is charged with bodily harm and damage after a violent incident in Frogner at the weekend. The police have stated that there is a relationship between the victim and Høiby.

The victim’s assistance lawyer, Mette Yvonne Larsen, stated on Friday that her client is also asking for calm in the case. The offended woman also wants to avoid speculation.

– For the sake of the investigation, she cannot elaborate on other information about physical injuries other than that she is on sick leave and both has and has had medical supervision, Larsen wrote in an SMS to NTB and several media on Friday evening.

Bratlien has said that there will be a statement about the charge, but as of Saturday evening cannot give any indication of when.
