Boris Oppliger takes over the management of ECJ B

Boris Oppliger, a seasoned musician and director, has been appointed to lead formation B of the Ensemble de Cuivres Jurassien (ECJ B). He replaces Rainier Chételat.

Boris Oppliger, born in Bern and of Ticino roots, already conducts the Brass Ensemble La Covatte, the Fanfare de Montsevelier and the Chorale Val Terbi en Cœur. Passionate regarding music from an early age, he notably distinguished himself in June 2022 by winning the conducting competition of the Brass Band Conductors Association (BBCA) in England.

ECJ B: an ensemble with many projects

ECJ B serves as a reservoir for ECJ A, the excellence category. The ensemble brings together talented and motivated young musicians from the region, who will take part in the Swiss Brass Band Competition in Montreux next November. 2023 will also mark the thirtieth anniversary of the Jura Brass Ensemble, and a trip of a few days abroad should be organised. /comm-cto
