Börse Express – OFF TO EUROPE: FOTON iBlue EV Truck receives the EU WVTA certificate

BEIJING, July 26 /PRNewswire/ — On July 26, the FOTON iBlue EV truck received a European Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) from Germany’s TÜV Rheinland, a leading independent testing, inspection and certification organization that is also one of the designated technical services for WVTA .

This means that the FOTON iBlue EV Truck fully meets the high standards of the EU regulation and can therefore be exported to EU and non-EU countries and regions that require WVTA certification. This is also FOTON’s first EU type approval certificate for electric vehicles for trucks.

The EU WVTA certificate is accepted as an “access card” for vehicle products for the EU market throughout the EU without the need for further testing until a directive is updated or your design is changed.

The FOTON iBlue Truck has passed more than 30 test points for WVTA certification, such as EMC, Electrical Safety Specification, NVH, Lane Departure Warning and Advanced Emergency Braking.

It uses the high-performance, high-energy-density battery from CATL, the world’s largest battery manufacturer, and PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor). It is able to fully meet the technical requirements for 0-30km/h launch acceleration, 30-50km/h overtaking acceleration and hill-start ability, and features an advanced braking energy regeneration strategy and ECO Driving mode to adapt to different driving conditions and achieve higher efficiency and 10% longer driving range. The complete vehicle undergoes rigorous testing of the battery, engine and electronic control system, as well as more than 800 static tests. The cruising range is less than or equal to 35% at low temperatures, and the high environmental adaptability also improves the vehicle’s operating efficiency. And with an endurance test of 100,000 km, the safety of the entire vehicle is also guaranteed.

In addition to the e-trucks, the fully electric buses from FOTON were also certified by the WVTA and went into operation in New Zealand in April of this year. As the world moves into low-carbon development, FOTON has also launched all-electric and hydrogen-powered products, which are used in national bus systems, school bus fleets, and airport shuttle fleets around the world. The success of the WVTA certification for the FOTON iBlue EV Truck means that FOTON has gained access to the most demanding European market.
