Borussia Mönchengladbach: Andreas Poulsen off to Aalborg – Bundesliga

The 4.5 million fallacy has finally ended!

Andreas Poulsen (22), who moved from Midtjylland to Gladbach four years ago for this million sum, is leaving Borussia for good. Daniel Farke (45), who had a lot of talent auditioned in preparation, had no use for Poulsen in the squad.

The left-back is returning to his native Denmark and is now trying his luck at first division side Aalborg BK.

Gladbachs Sports Director Roland Virkus (55): “Unfortunately, it has to be said that both sides had promised each other more from Andi’s time at Borussia. I wish him that his career picks up speed again in Aalborg and that he can fully develop his potential.

Poulsen played his first and only competitive game for the foals in 2018 in his debut season at VfL in the first round of the DFB Cup at BSC Hastedt (11:1).

In addition, Poulsen only appeared in 23 regional league games for the Foals’ U23s. In the Bundesliga it wasn’t even enough for a single minute.

In January 2020, Borussia loaned the Danes to the Austrian first division club Austria Wien for the first time for six months. Another six-month loan to Vienna followed in February 2021.

For the 2021/22 season, the Dane joined second division club FC Ingolstadt on loan. Poulsen appeared in six second division games (1 goal) and two games in the Bayernliga Süd for Oberbayern.

At all stations in Germany, however, the Dane could not kick himself into the foreground. Maybe he can do this again in his home country!
