Bang & Olufsen, which has always focused on texture, design and high unit price, today launched a new portable speaker Beosound A5. This is the product of the collaboration between B&O and the Italian design team GamFratesi, combining materials such as aluminum, wood and woven fibers to create a Nordic speaker aesthetic.
Beosound A5 comes in two designs. The “Nordic weaving” with silver aluminum, woven mask and light oak handle is intended to bring the image of Nordic summer; while the combination of black aluminum, dark oak mask and handle “dark oak “The color is the forest in northern Europe in winter. Although it is made of natural materials, Beosound A5 still has an IP65 waterproof and dustproof rating. The whole machine has a modular design, which not only facilitates maintenance, but also allows you to mix and match various components freely. In the future, B&O even intends to launch more materials and colors to mix and match.

In the part of the speaker itself, it has four monomers (a 5.25-inch woofer, two 2-inch midrange and a 0.75-inch tweeter), which can reach a total output of 280W. In addition to 360-degree surround, it also features beamforming technology from the high-end Beolab 90 and 50 horns. The A5 can be used continuously for 12 hours after being fully charged. In addition, its upper panel can also serve as a wireless charger for the mobile phone. Although this will lose a little playback time of the A5, it can extend the use of the mobile phone by the way. In addition to Bluetooth 5.2, A5 itself also supports Airplay 2, Chromecast and Spotify Connect.
The light version of Beosound A5 is priced at US$1,049, while the dark version is US$1,149.
