The Bosphorus Strait is temporarily closed for the passage of ships due to a breakdown in the engine of the 94-meter dry cargo ship Ilyas Konan, which was en route from Russia to the Turkish port of Kocaeli, reports NTV with reference to a statement from the Turkish Coast Guard.
According to the agency, the decision to suspend shipping was made at 18:00 local time (coincides with Moscow). Ilyas Konan was delivered with the help of tugboats to the Akhirkapi parking lot, the movement of ships across the Bosphorus is planned to be resumed at 21:20, NTV reports. As of 21:55, no resumption of navigation through the strait was reported.
