Boston Appeal Dismisses Charge Against Raphy Pina – NBC Puerto Rico

The First Circuit of Appeals in Boston determined this Monday to dismiss a charge for illegal possession of weapons against music producer Raphy Pina, so his sentence could be reduced.

“The government did not present any evidence to show that the defendant knew that the modified pistol had been altered to operate as a fully automatic weapon,” it reads.l document of 34 pages.

However, despite the fact that the appellate decided to recognize several errors pointed out by the employer, these will not be enough to revoke or demand a new trial.

For his part, former federal prosecutor Osvaldo Carlo estimated that Pina now faces 15 to 21 months in prison after the revocation of the charge.

“He has to be given credit for the time served, so we will see him back soon,” said the lawyer on his social networks.

Meanwhile, Pina’s family took to the Instagram account to let it be known that they are looking forward to seeing the businessman soon.

“THANK GOD WE WILL SEE PA SOON. Thank you all for your prayers, you cannot imagine the happiness we all feel,” the publication reads.

The producer, partner of Natty Natasha and who has represented artists such as Daddy Yankee and Nicky Jam, was sentenced at the end of May to 41 months in prison after being found guilty of the crime of possession of firearms.
