Boston Bruins extend contract with David Pastrnak to 2031

The Boston Bruins and star forward David Pastrnak have agreed on a new contract. The Czech striker has signed an eight-year, $90 million deal. The 26-year-old earns an average of $ 11.25 million a year, as announced on Thursday.

Pastrnak is currently in the last year of a six-year contract. After the current season ended, he might have become an unrestricted free agent.

The forward was drafted 25th overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2014 NHL. In 571 NHL games so far, he has 587 points (283 goals/304 assists).

This season, the Czech has scored 83 times (43/40) in 61 games so far. Pastrnak contributed a goal and two assists in Boston’s 7-1 win over Buffalo on Friday night. Boston is by far the best team in the NHL right now.
