Boston wants to reinstate Jay Larranaga to its coaching staff

The Celtics are working once morest the clock to close the technical staff they will have in the 2022-23 campaign. The one-year suspension of Ime Udoka has disrupted the plans of the franchise and, although they have already announced Joe Mazzulla as interim head coach, they still want to surround him as best as possible to get a great performance from their squad.

Thus, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN Boston would have asked the Los Angeles Clippers to let him talk to Jay Larranaga. The intention of those from Massachusetts is to sign the now Angelenos assistant as a member of Mazzulla’s technical staff.

Boston’s objective with this possible incorporation is to add a technician of its total confidence to the project, since Larranaga spent nine years working for the Celtics before leaving in 2021 for Californian lands; that is, he knows and has been present in the development process of Marcus Smarts, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.
