The Summer 2024 issue of Fanzine records the behind-the-scenes story of the Summer 2024 collection designed by Matthieu Blazy, brilliantly depicting this journey between reality and imagination. This issue of Fanzine follows Alec Soth’s lens as he travels through various parks and playgrounds in Tokyo, exploring the playful spaces created in the shapes of animals, stones, mushrooms, etc., and delicately captures and records this journey full of adventure and discovery. . Alec Soth is a famous photographer from Magnum Photo Agency. He is famous for his “travel-style” large-scale photography works. His lenses can often find inspiration and ingenuity from the structural design of the scene itself. He collaborated with Matthieu Blazy in the design. The use of materials, craftsmanship and imagination has the same purpose.

“Matthieu’s works always allow me to perceive two worlds at the same time,” said Alec Soth: “One is an absolutely figurative world that mobilizes real senses with excellent craftsmanship; the other is a world full of fantasy. Throughout my life, The core of inspiration for this shoot is the spirit of playfulness. The playground symbolizes Matthieu’s unbridled imagination, so I integrated this playfulness into my shots in a colorful form.”

The second and third volumes of this issue of Fanzine are designed to inspire readers to take risks and explore. Open the accompanying travel notebook to start your own journey of reality and fantasy; it also comes with a set of stickers and graphic depictions. The various playful buildings of Tokyo’s amusement parks are used to complement the inspiration elements of the 2024 summer series. In addition, some retro luggage tags and icons that often appear during travel are also painted. The last volume of this issue of Fanzine contains precious behind-the-scenes images from this advertising campaign.

Blazy describes the Summer 2024 collection as “an Odyssey: a journey full of freedom and hope. It connects your past, your future and the places you want to be. The 2024 summer issue will be the fourth issue of Fanzine released by Bottega Veneta. This issue will not only be distributed in Bottega Veneta stores around the world, but will also be available on the shelves of selected boutique bookstores around the world for the first time. From March 29th to April 7th, Bottega Veneta will also present a special exhibition of Alec Soth’s works – “Tokyo Playtime” at Gallery Seeen in Omotesando, Tokyo, displaying the 2024 summer series of static advertising films shot by him, as well as his previous Video work shot in Japan.
