Bourde on TF1 news: Jacques Legros apologizes to viewers

Fault confessed is half redressed? This Sunday, December 25, in the 1 p.m. edition on TF1, Audrey Crespo-Mara returned to storm Elliott, nicknamed the “blizzard of the century”, which hit the United States. To illustrate the subject, the journalist launched a video sequence showing a man who opens the door of his car completely frozen in the ice. The problem? These images were from January 2022.

The sequence used by TF1 journalists was actually from social networks. At the start of the week, in his 1 p.m. news, Jacques Legros was therefore forced to apologize to TF1 viewers on behalf of the entire editorial staff.

“You know how much we at TF1 want to provide you with reliable information,” said the journalist following a new topic devoted to the Elliott storm. “Yesterday, by mistake, we broadcast an image of a man who opens the door of his car completely covered in ice, which also breaks. This image was from January 2022. We are of course sorry for that and we apologize for that.”
