“My brother is still fighting, he is still alive, until he stops breathing we cannot say that he died. Right now he is breathing, we saw him and we saw him still strong. We have faith and we are waiting until the last moment for God’s miracle,” Leonardo told the Barranquilla media.

Until this Thursday night, the General Clinic of the North had not issued a statement about his death.

Luis Quiñones had to undergo surgery this Sunday after he collapsed in the eighth round during the fight for the 140-pound national title against fellow Colombian José Muñoz.

Due to his state of health, he was urgently taken to the clinic and there, after detecting the clot, they proceeded to intervene. Until this Thursday, at night, he debates between life and death.

The president of the Federation, Alberto Torres, who assured that it is a brain death, leaving without a floor what the entity had previously stated on its social networks where the death of the athlete was assured.
