To coincide with Sydney World Pride in Australia, The Little Black Gallery present BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! World Pridean exhibition of works by 62 homosexual and queer photographers, is being held at the Working Dog Gallery Sydney from February 23 to March 11.
BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! is a project of The Little Black Gallery organized by co-founder Ghislain Pascal, to promote queer and gay photography. He now represents more than 60 photographers from 30 countries, including China, India, Iran, Poland and Russia, where gay rights are suppressed and gay lives are constantly threatened. BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! includes exhibitions, books, a biannual magazine, photography competitions and courses, and an online art platform. Working Dog Gallery is a new art gallery established by photographer and educator Paul McDonald in St Leonards, Sydney, Australia.
Ghislain Pascal said: “It’s great to bring BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! Australia to celebrate Sydney World Pride. In recent years we’ve had exhibitions in Amsterdam (The Ravestijn Gallery), Cologne (Galerie Biesenbach), London (The Hospital Club), Los Angeles (Fahey Klein Gallery) and Paris (Tom Greyhound) – so it’s good to know go to Australia where we already have a large following. This is our largest exhibition to date with the 62 photographers we represent. It’s really important to all my artists that we expose their work to as wide an audience as possible. All the interest of our BOYS program! BOYS! BOYS! is to persuade people that it is okay to buy works by gay and gay photographers to hang. in their homes.
The publication of volume 5 of BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! The Magazine will also be honored. It presents ten photographers: Ahmad Naser Eldein (Palestine), Nigel Grimmer (United Kingdom), Lagartier (Mexico), Hannes van der Merwe (Canada), Jacopo Paglione (Italy), Francisco Rosas (Mexico), Ruben Van Schalm (Country Netherlands), Liu Tao (China), The Skinny Type (UK), and a special feature and interview with Shen Wei (China/US). »
