On Monday, the integration of bpost bank into BNP Paribas Fortis will be a reality. Around a million customers will therefore change banking organization, the transfer will make certain services inaccessible over the weekend, BNP Paribas Fortis warns on Wednesday.

With the swallowing of the bpost bank brand, BNP Paribas Fortis will have 4.8 million customers, who will be able to carry out simple banking transactions in the 656 post offices or make an appointment in 309 bank branches. BNP Paribas Fortis will now have the largest distribution network in the country.

Major operations will be carried out on the bank’s computer systems in order to transfer the accounts of soon-to-be former bpost bank customers to BNP Paribas Fortis, while keeping their information such as their account numbers, direct debits, standing orders, etc. From then on, several services will be unavailable.
For bpost customers, their debit card may not work overnight from Saturday to Sunday, the credit card will not be affected. All bpost bank services (PC banking, Mobile Banking, website, self-banking devices, etc.) will become obsolete from Friday at 5:00 p.m. Clients will have access to BNP Paribas Fortis applications and services from Monday 22.

It will also not be possible to carry out banking transactions at a post office over the weekend, nor on Friday followingnoon as the offices will close at 12:30 p.m. Money withdrawals will, however, be operational in all ATMs, with the exception of those in the BNP Paribas Fortis network, which will be inaccessible from Saturday to Sunday morning.

For BNP Paribas Fortis customers, there will be less disruption, although branches will all be closed on Saturday and the Easy Banking App, Web and Business applications will not be accessible during the nights of Friday to Saturday, then from Saturday to Sunday. The Easy Banking Phone will not be accessible during the weekend. The Fintro and Hello Bank applications will also experience nighttime outages.
