Tom Brady (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) broke a new record in the first game of the NFL season. It’s the oldest quarterback start of all time.

Brady started his first game of the season against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on the 12th (Korean time) and connected a touchdown pass. Brady set the record for the first 45-year-old quarterback start in NFL history.

The previous oldest starting start for a quarterback was Steve Debug, who was 44 years and 279 days in 1998. Brady was born on August 3, 1977 and is 45 years old. Tampa Bay won 19-3.

Brady’s 23rd season. Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time. He made ten appearances in the Super Bowl, the NFL final, seven times, and was the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player (MVP) five times. Brady was drafted by the New England Patriots with the 199th pick in the 2000 Draft and served as the starting quarterback the following year. He moved to Tampa Bay in March 2020, signing a two-year, $50 million contract. And he led Tampa Bay’s first Super Bowl win since its founding (2003) in the 2020-2021 season. Brady announced his retirement in February, but turned around after 40 days.
