Braves make trades for Odorizzi, Grossman (sources)

The Braves stayed active Monday, as they did at the last trade deadline with moves that propelled them to a World Series title.

The Atlanta club is close to finalizing a deal for Astros right-hander Jake Odorizzi, a source told MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand. The Braves would send reliever Will Smith to Houston.

Odorizzi has missed time this season due to injuries, but he has performed well when he has been on salute with a 3.75 ERA in 12 starts in 2022.

Separately, the defending champions completed the trade of outfielder Robbie Grossman from the Tigers for left-hander Kris Anglin.
