Brazil has declared three days of official mourning following the death of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Ben Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State of the United Arab Emirates.

The Brazilian ministry points out that the late “president of the United Arab Emirates since 2004 has played a decisive role in the spectacular social and economic progress of his country in recent decades”, noting that the “son of the founding father of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan was a recognized statesman”.
Under his leadership, the statement continued, Brazil’s relations with the United Arab Emirates “have developed until today reaching the status of a strategic partnership”.
