São Paulo (Archyde.com) – Brazilian exports to Arab League member states totaled $14.4 billion last year, up 26 percent from 2020, data from the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce showed on Thursday, the highest rate since 2013, supported by strong sales. for iron ore and foodstuffs.
The data showed that Brazil’s total exports of agricultural products rose 9.5 percent to $8.9 billion, as strong demand for soybeans and chicken helped offset the impact of lower sales of sugar and beef to Arab countries.
Soybean exports jumped 97.5 percent to $638 million, and chicken sales rose nearly 22 percent to $2.4 billion.
Iron ore sales also jumped by 173 percent to $3.8 billion in 2021, making it the most valuable single commodity in trade with Arab League member states.
Although beef sales fell 5 percent to $920.6 million and sugar exports fell 4 percent to $2.75 billion last year, the data confirmed that countries including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt are among Brazil’s main trading partners.
The Chamber of Commerce added that the Arab League countries also bought $1.04 billion worth of corn from Brazil.
Brazil’s exports to Arab countries are at the highest level in 8 years
