Officials seized regarding one and a half lakh intoxicating pills that Hadida tried to smuggle into Saudi Arabia through the check point. The drugs were found secretly hidden in a truck trying to enter the country. During the search, 1,43,000 Captagon tablets were seized.

These were found during an inspection conducted with the help of a dog specially trained to detect drug trafficking. They were found in cleverly hidden layers of leaf springs next to the truck’s wheels.

Officials had earlier foiled an attempt to smuggle drug pills through the Hadida check point on the Jordanian border. The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority has clarified that the customs control of the country’s imports and exports will continue to be strict.
