According to police, there were multiple people inside the post office at the time, including customers and employees, and two female employees, one in their 20s and one in their 30s, were left behind in the building.
For this reason, police continued to speak with the barricaded man on the phone and were negotiating to release the two men.

The man persuaded the police, and at around 7:17 p.m., the two employees, both in their 20s, were safely taken into custody. There were no injuries.
The investigation so far suggests that the man may be carrying a real handgun, and there is no information that he is carrying kerosene or petroleum. To ensure safety, police continue to restrict entry near the post office and ask residents in the area to evacuate.

Meanwhile, police have confirmed that the injured person was in a shooting incident at a hospital in Toda City, Saitama Prefecture, which occurred just before the barricade incident.
