On the evening of the 24th, there was a fire at a house in Hirakata City, Osaka, and one elderly woman living in this house died.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
Around 4:00 pm on the 24th, a man living nearby reported to the fire department in Yabugaoka, Hirakata City, saying, “I can see the flames from my house.”
Sixteen fire engines and other vehicles were dispatched, and the fire was extinguished following regarding two hours, but the two-story house burned down and the fire spread to the adjacent store.
According to the police, Keiko Saito (88), who lives in the house where the fire originated, was found collapsed at the front door and was confirmed dead on the spot.
The police are investigating the cause of the fire because Saito lived alone.
The site is a densely populated residential area regarding one kilometer east of Makino Station on the Keihan Electric Railway.
