Istanbul – The hottest temperature since records began has been measured in Turkey. In Eskişehir in central Turkey, the temperature reached 49.5 degrees Celsius on Tuesday – it was hotter than the previous record in July 2021, Environment Minister Mehmet Özhaseki wrote on X, formerly Twitter. At that time, 49.1 degrees were registered in south-east Turkey. Systematic temperature measurements have existed in Turkey for regarding 100 years.
