Breaking News: Results and Highlights from the WDSF 2023 World Breaking Championship

This weekend of September 23 and 24, 2023 was that of the Breakdance World Championships in Louvain, the “WDSF 2023 World Breaking Championship”. More than 200 dancers, 118 men and 93 women, from 64 different countries were represented. As a reminder, Breaking, that’s the official name (acrobatic floor dance), will make its debut at the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.

The Lithuanian Nick16, was crowned World Champion among B-girls, while the American Victor was titled among the B-boys. They are both qualified for the next Olympic Games.

There were four Belgians competing in these World Breakdance Championships in Belgium. Among B-girls, Camine Van Hoof et Maxime ‘Madmax’ Blieck managed to reach the Top 16. Among the B-boys, Cis Backeljau was eliminated from the Top 32 while Dimitrios ‘Mighty Jimm’ Grigoriouthe best of our representatives, climbed into the Top 8.
