A vegetation fire broke out on Saturday followingnoon on the heights of Buix. SIS Basse-Allaine was alerted around 3 p.m. and eight firefighters went to the scene to put out the flames. Some 30 m2 of vegetation went up in smoke. The origin of the fire is accidental, according to Christophe Berthold, the vice-commander of SIS Basse-Allaine: “Fortunately it had rained yesterday, otherwise the damage might have been more substantial,” he said. He adds that the vegetation is still very dry, and therefore very flammable, and calls for the greatest caution. /cto
