While traffic on the Brenner motorway was practically impossible on Friday due to a truck stuck in the snow, it was blocked once more this Saturday by pro-climate demonstrators. Activists from the Letzte Generation association (editor’s note: Last Generation in German) blocked the highway for around 30 minutes by sticking their hands to the asphalt. They were supported by musicians sensitive to the climate cause. This is the third blockade of this type in the region.
On Friday, vehicles remained immobilized on the Brenner motorway for much longer, due to a truck which found itself stuck in the snow, despite a ban on heavy goods vehicles traveling there. Traffic was interrupted for seven hours and did not resume until around 7 p.m. Drivers had to be patient and wait for the situation to improve in the cold of winter.
