British Prime Minister Boris Johnson called on China to take a stand on the conflict in Ukraine.

During an interview with the Sunday Times, Johnson called on Moscow’s strategic ally China, and other countries that have not yet taken a position, to join Western countries in condemning Russia’s military operation in Ukraine.

He added that there are “big dilemmas” for countries that have not yet spoken once morest Russian President Vladimir Putin, as he put it.

“I think Beijing is starting to think regarding the issue once more,” he said.

Johnson described the crisis in Ukraine as a “turning point for the world” during a speech at the Conservative Party conference in Blackpool, northwest England, which was attended by the Ukrainian ambassador to London Vadim Prystaiko.
