British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace may resign because of Prime Minister Liz Truss, who wants to increase military spending. It is reported by the British TV channel Sky News.

New British chancellor Jeremy Hunt has raised the possibility of retracting Liz Truss’s key pledge to increase defense spending – a move that would likely mean the resignation of her defense secretary, Ben Wallace. Asked if any departure from defense spending targets would warrant a resignation, a defense source said Mr Wallace would press the prime minister to honor his commitments.

Truss promised to increase military spending to 3% of national income by 2030. But Hunt refused to raise that amount on Saturday.

Jeremy Hunt became British Chancellor of the Exchequer. This happened after Truss fired the previous head of the Ministry of Finance Kwazi Kwarteng, who worked for 38 days, reports channel 360.
