British novelist Fay Weldon dies aged 91

(Belga) British novelist and essayist Fay Weldon died on Wednesday at the age of 91. She passed away peacefully, her family said in a statement.

Fay Weldon has written over 30 novels, as well as short stories and screenplays for television, radio and theatre. Among her best-known works is “The Life and Loves of a She-Devil”, adapted for the cinema under the title “She-Devil, la diable” by Susan Seidelman and in which Ruth (played by Roseanne Barr) attempts to revenge on her husband, who cheats on her with Mary Fisher (Meryl Streep), an attractive novelist.
