British Tourist Finds Bali Farmer Dead Beneath Motorcycle in Kintamani

A British tourist traveling through a remote plantation road in Kintamani discovered a local farmer dead beneath a motorcycle on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

What began as an off-road journey through the forests of Sukawana Village turned into a grim roadside discovery on October 6, 2026. British national Mike Lambrou, 55, was riding a motorcycle with his son along a remote plantation route leading toward Pondokan Dadem in Bangli when they noticed a person pinned beneath a red Honda Beat motorcycle on the side of the track.

The victim was identified as 49-year-old local farmer Ketut Selamat. Approaching the scene, Lambrou moved the heavy machine off the victim and checked for vital signs before realizing the man was unresponsive, prompting him to seek immediate assistance from people nearby.

The Discovery Along the Sukawana Plantation Road

He encountered a local resident named Jro Widiarta near Jalan Raya Siakin. Widiarta then followed the tourist back to the plantation trail on his own motorcycle to verify the situation.

The witness, Lambrou, moved the motorcycle that was on top of the victim. He then checked the victim’s pulse, believing he was already dead. The witness then went straight to the main road to seek help from passing motorists.

Upon returning to the roadside, the local residents confirmed that Selamat had already died from his injuries. Word of the discovery was quickly passed to the victim’s family, the customary village head, and local law enforcement authorities.

Bangli Police Investigation and Medical Findings

Officers from the Kintamani and Bangli police departments arrived at the scene alongside medical personnel to conduct a formal examination of the area and inspect the body. Authorities noted that while a single-vehicle motorcycle crash was the primary working hypothesis, the exact sequence of events remained under active review.

Medical evaluations at the site revealed distinct physical trauma consistent with a violent fall or collision involving the motorbike. An autopsy was subsequently scheduled to establish the precise clinical cause of death.

We have investigated the case. The findings show several injuries on the victim’s body caused by the motorcycle falling on him. There was an injury to the back of his head, bruising around his right eye, and blood coming from his nose and ears.

Investigators documented a skull fracture at the back of the head alongside facial bruising and bleeding, matching the trauma expected from being pinned underneath a motorized vehicle on a rugged plantation track. Police and medical examiners continued reviewing the evidence to conclude the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
