DENVER (AP) — Russell Wilson threw three touchdown passes, Justin Simmons had two of Denver’s five steals and the Broncos blocked an ailing Patrick Mahomes to end a 16-game losing streak to the Kansas City Chiefs with Sunday’s 24-9 victory.

The Broncos (3-5) were serenaded off the field by Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off,” which might be heard throughout Empower Field. The artist was not in the stadium to witness Travis Kelce’s six catches for 58 yards on a horrible day for the Chiefs (6-2).

The Broncos led Mahomes to lose for the first time on a visit to the American Conference West, beating the Kansas City quarterback for the first time in 13 meetings.

Denver took a 14-9 lead at halftime by controlling the clock and keeping Mahomes and Kelce cooling their cleats on the sideline in the second half. Kansas City only had three possessions following halftime before getting the ball back for an unnecessary play at the end.
