Brussels Airlines Airbus A330 Grounded in Ivory Coast: Flight Disruptions and Rebooking Options

A Brussels Airlines Airbus A330 has been grounded for several days in Ivory Coast. The aircraft was damaged following a collision on the tarmac with a handling vehicle. As the repairs could still last, the company is looking for solutions to disrupt its flight schedule as little as possible. Cancellations are however not ruled out, the company said on Monday.

Brussels Airlines specifies that it must reorganize certain connections. For example, several destinations are combined into one flight in order to avoid cancellation. If flights still had to be canceled, trips could be rebooked, possibly via another company.

The plane’s fuselage was somewhat damaged after the vehicle of a handler operating on the tarmac at Abidjan airport collided with the aircraft on Thursday evening. Passengers were on board at the time of the collision but no one was injured.
