A Brussels Airlines plane was struck by lightning on Friday morning while flying to Tel Aviv from Brussels. This was confirmed by a spokesperson for the airline. The craft had to turn around and land in Brussels. It was slightly damaged and there were no injuries.

The lightning was caused by the violent storm which swept the country in the morning on Friday.
