Brussels Brawl Leaves Three Injured, Police Investigation Underway

One of the three victims suffered a head injury, but none of them is in danger of death. The cause and circumstances of the brawl are not yet clear but there is no link with recent tensions between the Kurdish and Turkish communities, according to the Brussels-North local police zone (Schaerbeek/Evere/Saint-Josse- ten-Noode).

“Our teams were called around 8:30 p.m. for a major fight in the area of ​​rue Marbotin, haussee de Haecht and rue du Foyer Schaerbeekois,” explains Audrey Dereymaeker, spokesperson for the police zone. “On site, it turned out that it was a brawl involving around fifteen individuals. Three people were injured, including one in the head, but their lives are not in danger.”

All three victims were taken to hospital while police are investigating the causes and circumstances of the altercation. Several witnesses will be questioned and images from surveillance cameras in the area will be analyzed. No information is currently available on possible arrests.
