2023-11-15 06:57:00

Tuesday evening, around 9:00 p.m., a Brussels firefighter/paramedic was the victim of an attack by a patient.

An ambulance 112 from SIAMU RDC was required for a very confused man in his forties. He was completely naked on the public highway. While treating the patient, he suddenly became aggressive and attacked one of the paramedics.

The police intervened on the spot to control the man and transfer him to the police station.

The paramedic went to the hospital for treatment. He suffered, among other things, from bruises and an injury to his mouth requiring 5 stitches. He is unable to work. A complaint has been filed. The SIAMU management will also file a complaint and, if necessary, will file a civil suit.

Moral and psychological support was offered to the paramedic.
