Brussels firefighters intervened to save three people this followingnoon. Two men dove into the canal to save another woman who was drowning.
“Our divers pulled everyone out of the water,” comments fire brigade spokesperson Walter Derieuw. “The first person was unconscious. The firefighters tried to resuscitate her immediately but her prognosis is in jeopardy.” The other two people were hypothermic and were taken to the hospital as well.
The circumstances of the fall of the first individual are still to be determined.
