Brussels Firefighters Tackle Major Attic Fire in Schaerbeek: 10 People Relocated

“This morning, around 3:45 a.m., the Brussels firefighters intervened for an attic fire in a four-story house in Schaerbeek, rue Josaphat,” informs Walter Derieuw, spokesperson for the Brussels zone firefighters.

According to information, there were no injuries: the occupants were evacuated in time. The two adjoining houses were also evacuated while the upper floors also caught fire.

The fire was finally brought under control around 4:20 a.m. The origin of the blaze remains to be determined.

According to the spokesperson, the damage caused by the fire was significant, making the house uninhabitable, as well as the upper floors of the neighboring house. In total, ten people must be relocated.
