2023-09-02 11:30:08

Three tunnels were closed in Brussels on Friday morning due to flooding following heavy rains that fell on the capital, while tram traffic is disrupted in Jette, report Brussels Mobility and the capital’s firefighters.

The Arts-Loi tunnel was thus closed in both directions due to flooding, before being reopened later in the morning. The Vleurgat tunnel is temporarily no longer accessible towards the Bois de la Cambre. Finally, the one from Halle Gate to the Basilica of Koekelberg was also closed for a while due to flooding but has since reopened. “On Avenue de l’Exposition in Jette, tram traffic was interrupted due to flooding,” added Walter Derieuw, spokesman for the fire department. In the same town, rue Eugène Toussaint is also under water. The Brussels firefighters and the municipal services of Jette are mobilized to free the two axes
