A man stabbed his wife to death on December 26, before committing suicide two days later in Haren prison, the Brussels prosecutor’s office said on Tuesday.

According to our colleagues in the Capital, the suspect went of his own accord to the Molenbeek police station, a few hours following the incident. The prosecution then requested an investigating judge, who placed the man under arrest warrant for suspicion of homicide.

On December 28, the suspect killed himself in Haren prison, where he had been incarcerated, reported the prosecution, which did not wish to provide further details.

According to the newspaper La Capitale, the individual suspected his wife of infidelity and allegedly killed her while he questioned her regarding it.
