The Management Committee of the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM), had this Thursday, July 13, 2023, an exchange meeting with start-ups, in Abidjan.
The objective of the BRVM in organizing this meeting, at its headquarters, with these key players in the economy, was to present to them the opportunities offered by the financial institution and also to collect their expectations.
The Brvm Management Committee, led by its Managing Director, Dr Edoh Kossi Amenounve, met these start-ups in the sub-regional institution’s listing room. During this session, these start-ups were educated on the ecosystem of the regional stock exchange.
The members of the committee presented to them the BRVM, one of the two central structures of the WAEMU financial market, its organization and the evolutions of the primary and secondary market over the past ten years in terms of resources raised and performance achieved.
Then, the managers of the regional stock exchange explained to them the classic and innovative methods of financing that start-ups can use during their life cycle, in particular stock exchange financing.
In this adventure of the business world, these young entrepreneurs were built on a few success stories of start-ups listed on the stock market around the world. In addition, the members of the Management Committee had a sharing of experiences with the start-ups present.
The parties have agreed to collaborate around three major axes, namely how fintechs can help to further popularize the Brvm, how to develop regulatory and technological aspects to promote access to the stock market and how to offer market access to startups. to finance and get listed on the stock exchange.
The start-ups present at this meeting expressed their ambition to one day ring the bell of the Brvm, during their IPO. The start-ups Coliba Africa, JOOL international, Panelys Cash, Ejara, Djamo, Groupe DPSE and Innoving took part in this meeting.
