INTERFAX.RU – In Bryansk, the police are establishing the motives and circumstances of the shooting at gymnasium No. 5, where three people were injured and the shooter committed suicide, reported in the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“According to preliminary information, one of the students brought a firearm into the gymnasium building and fired several shots, as a result of which three people were injured. After this, the girl committed suicide,” the police said.
In the management telegram channel saidthat as a result of the shooting “five people were injured” and that “one of the wounded classmates also died from her wounds.”
The Bryansk mayor’s office previously reported that the shooting was carried out by an eighth-grader. Two people, including the shooter, were killed, officials said.
State Duma Deputy Alexander Khinshtein wrote in Telegramthat a 14-year-old girl “smuggled a Bekas-3 hunting rifle belonging to her father to school,” hiding it in a tube.
Health Minister Mikhail Murashko has taken personal control of providing assistance to victims; employees of federal clinics will conduct telemedicine consultations, the federal Ministry of Health said.
“In the incident in Bryansk, two people died, five teenagers were injured, all of them were hospitalized in a moderate condition. They are receiving all the necessary medical care,” Alexey Kuznetsov, assistant to the head of the Ministry of Health, told reporters.
