What a complicated year for Khris Middleton! Since his big injury against the Bulls during the 2022 Playoffs, the Milwaukee winger has been going from galley to galley. The left knee first, the wrist but also the ankle, to believe that we are in a crazy doctor game. Limited to only 33 games this season, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s lieutenant had a hard time finding the pitch. We learn today via Shams Charania from The Athletic that the fake cousin of English royalty has been hampered all season by his right knee. Enough to force him to have another operation this spring to avoid some problems in the future.

The good news for Bucks fans is that it’s not the same knee as last year, but it’s starting to hurt a lot for Middleton. Limited to just 24 minutes on the court and sometimes even as a sixth man, Middleton had his worst statistical season in seven years. (15 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds). Besides, he hadn’t shot so badly from the parking lot since his rookie season. (only 31%)
The player probably hopes with this operation to regain all his means and become the All-Star he was still a year ago. A return to form which would be very practical for the franchise but also for the player who sees the end of his contract approaching. Khris Middleton can test the market this summer or activate his player option up to 40 million and wait for the summer of 2024. According to Jake Fisher of Bleacher Reportthe Wisconsin franchise could avoid any suspense on this file by extending the player this summer with a deal over several years.
