Budget: Bercy’s savings options for the end of the five-year term

The budgetary mood varies depending on the week in government. Last Wednesday, Elisabeth Borne resolved to loosen the purse strings somewhat to pass her budgetary texts relating to 2023 and 2024, with some expensive gifts to mollify her majority and certain opposition groups.

But from this week, it will be a question of tightening them once more: the Prime Minister is preparing to launch the hunt for savings for the 2025 budget and beyond – until the end of the five-year term.
