The Vice President of the Republic, Félix Ulloa, has come out in forceful defense of President Nayib Bukele’s management in the face of criticism of authoritarianism coming from both national and international sectors, whom he calls “Bukelephobic”, who continue to ignore the positive advances and the palpable reality that El Salvador is experiencing now.

“The bukelephobes, both national and those who join in chorus from other countries, whether they are called think tanks, media, journalists or analysts, continue to deny the Salvadoran reality,” said Ulloa in reference to the detractors of the current Government, who also oppose They refuse to recognize the achievements and majority support that Bukele has among the Salvadoran population.

In this sense, the vice president highlighted that the approval ratings of the Salvadoran President are overwhelming, reaching 85% among citizens residing in the country and an astonishing 98% among compatriots residing abroad.

Likewise, Ulloa rejected the negative labels that have been attributed to Bukele, arguing that his election and re-election were the result of the sovereign will freely expressed by citizens at the polls, emphasizing the legal support that supports this decision established in the article 152, No. 1 of the Salvadoran Constitution, and highlighting that the Ruler did not exercise the presidency during the immediately preceding period nor in the last six months before the beginning of the new presidential period, which allowed him to present himself as a candidate in accordance with the law.
